Doesn't mean tho the mirror and emulator projects wont be around. Sometimes I feel we just have to build something and lead a new charge. Thats the main reason I open sourced mine so it would be out there for other to find. When I started with the garden project it was really hard to come across any good docs. Its harder to start something new or go into areas that are not always laid out. Seems like a high value low risk project and is why so many folks make em.

If I look at it though for the value of the end build all I have to do is install some software and put a monitor in a frame. I did have a laugh reading that and then navigating to the top posts to find several mirrors. googling this sub I found the link and the title "more than just magic mirrors and kodi". However I can see where the discussion comes from. These things have so much potential & the masses are making gameboys and mirrors.ĭoesn't mean I don't have a pi with retropie installed laying around. Maybe Im missing something or just out of the loop but I have no idea why everyoene is buying a Pi just to make a vanity mirror. It almost reminds me of if everyones phone wallpaper was just what the front facing camera sees. Only use I could see is maybe like being a bint and being able to watch youtube while you do your make up or hair. Who wants actually wants to check their email and look at themself the entire time? Half the functions I see on these mirrors are highly impractical for displaying on a wall in room also versus just looking at your phone. Youd think that would make it somewhat harder to read as it doesnt have a consistent background to allow you to differentiate whats on screen and whats behind you. I feel like this subreddit has been regurgitating emulator builds for years & now its grown to MAGIC MIRROR BUILDS every other day.
